One of our favorite moments on our trip to NM was visiting the Folk Museum. Adrienne's house is bursting with collections of folk art, and it's a large influence on the STATE aesthetic and ethos.

Seeing Alexander Girard's collection was mind blowing. A place we could have stayed for hours and hours.

Looking at this Billow top now, the happy plaid color palette takes us right back to those collections. The tiny carved figurines, the displays of painted trains and boats. Paper mache, dried flowers, punched tin florets. The textures and colors filling our minds with subliminal connections and references – inspiration that will slowly release for years to come.
